We were informed by WWF Singapore that they are organizing Earth Hour at the stunning Flat@Marina Bay on the 19th of March. There will be yoga, top local bands – Sam Willows, Gentle Bones etc and local celebs on stage; all of them there to make a good cause for charity.

The following is part of the promotional email that they sent us. Do give that event a try and lend your support to WWF Singapore and Earth Hour!

Be part of a world record for Earth Hour, Saturday March 19, 6pm.

earth hour

Join thousands of others in tree pose and show you care about our forests by helping to break a world record to the stunning backdrop of Singapore’s Marina Bay. We need 2277 people to break the record! We need YOU! The best thing is admission to the Float is FREE and it promises to be a great evening of entertainment for all the family.

Why?
Last year we all suffered the effects of haze pollution, but did you know over 2 million hectares of forest in Indonesia was destroyed by the same fires that ruined our air? To #XtheHaze we must protect forests.

This year Earth Hour Singapore is dedicated to forests and you can help World Wide Fund for Nature Singapore (WWF-Singapore) spotlight the problems of deforestation and haze pollution by being part of the biggest yoga tree ever!

Forests keep our air clean, control climate change and are home to endangered species like the tiger, rhino and orangutan. Let’s show some love for forests by making like a tree!

Come to the Float@Marina Bay at 6pm for a quick yoga warm up before the record attempt. Entry is FREE. Register here http://goo.gl/forms/QoNvzDZ9s2

Earth Hour Concert
It doesn’t stop there, after the record attempt stay and enjoy a FREE concert with top class entertainment from Singapore’s biggest-name bands, favourite celebrities and best DJs. Enjoy the Green Carnival with fun for all ages.

Then at 8.30pm watch as Marina Bay’s famous landmark buildings power-down and switch off their lights in support of action against climate change. Goosebumps!
